It works well on my wife's Dell XPS 13 9360 and my own Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen 6. In both cases, the adapter is plugged into the USB-3/TB3 port. I can safely say that this adapter should be compatible with all laptops equipped with TB3. I have not personally tested it on laptops equipped with USB-C with alt mode (but no TB3).
